You get paid a good commission when a sale is made through the ad you placed. Scams are "get rich quick" schemes that tell you that you will make thousands even without doing much. They are lies. 10. Buy and resell electronics and musical equipment on eBay. I know it sounds like an infomercial, but it really works if you are a realist and do the math. You will not get rich, but you can make an honest living doing it. I have done it as a hobby in my spare time and earned an extra $7000 in one year......profit. Unfortunately, my real job takes too much time, and I am too much of a chicken sh!t to give it a real run, but I believe just doing what I have done....full time.....could net a person around 30k a year. Not near enough for me to quit my job, but in hard times, I could make it work. Briefly, here's the schematic. Only bid on items with 2 or less pages of results. Why? Because you will be posting there. If there are a bunch of the same item, people typically don't look past the second page. Look for mislisted or misspelled items if possible. They usually sell really CHEAP. Otherwise, choose what you are interested in selling, look at the completed items, and take the average selling price of all the SOLD items. Add 10% to that number and consider that your selling price. Base your purchase price on that number. Keep in mind that you have to pay shipping when you buy, and that is definitely a portion of your final cost. You only want to sell on "buy it now" auctions. The money you collect will be in the form of the selling price and shipping. Make sure to factor in your expenses for selling. Insertion fee, final value fee, paypal fee (if applicable), and actual shipping cost. Make sure the remaining amount (net profit) is the percentage you would like. I typically like to make about 15% on an item when I sell it. Sometimes I make a lot more than that, but always figure the smallest margin for your schematic. Example. I see results for 24 of the XYZ radio. I go to the completed listings figure the average selling price for the 43 items that have SOLD. I do not figure the ones that did not sell. Let's say that the average selling price for the XYZ radio is $100 (I like round numbers). I would add 10% and determine that $110 would be a good "buy it now" price. I see that the average shipping price is $10. Go to USPS and figure Parcel Post shipping with delivery confirmation. The actual shipping price is $8. I look for the highest price for shipping on the SOLD items. Let's say it is $14. I will deduct $1 from that leaving me a shipping charge of $13. When my item sells, I will collect $123. Let's say my insertion fee was $3, my final value fee was $4, my paypal transaction fee was $4, and my actual shipping (above) is $8. I add those fees together and realize that my selling fees total $19. I now deduct the $19 from my total sale price of $123 leaving me with a net price of $104. If I want to make 15% on the sale, my purchase price should have been roughly $89, including shipping. It may seem difficult to make these purchases, but they are a reality and happen all the time. You just have to watch and make sure you keep your bid on the mark. Anyhow, that's my best advice. I do not believe there is such a thing as a profitable work at home program that requires no effort. A work at home job is being self employed. When you are self employed, you have to be self motivated and be willing to put in the hours you would at a normal job, and in a lot of cases, even more. If you apply yourself properly, you can make a lot of money. If not, I suppose you could write a book instructing others how to make money, but good luck with that. There are already a million "authors" instructing others how to do what they have done, when in reality they have done nothing. Hope I have been of help.
