How much money do you have to have to make a bank account?

im 12 and i want to open a bank account. i dont want to go to the bank if im not gonna hav enough money. so i dont want to no wat a good start would be i just wanna no how much i NEED to make one. ti hav $25 right now.

1. opening a bank account requires about one hundred dollars or so for some banks. But you do need to be at least 18 to open one. At your age you have to have your parents with you so that they can open one for you, but even then not sure if u can open one at 12.
2. If your parents belong to a credit union, open an account there. One of your parents will also have to be on the account as a custodian until you are 18. Most credit unions have little or no minimum balance requirement with no monthly fees and the interest is generally a little higher than a bank. Some also have savings accounts specifically for younger kids who want to start saving.
