How much money do you have to make to file a 1040-EZ tax form?
Im not too sure how much i have to make, i heard it was 500 dollars from a coworker, but my mother tells me that i would have had to make 5000 dollars in order to file a form myself?

- You only HAVE TO MAKE 51cents to file one. You are only required to file if you earned over the standard deduction plus your exemption. This year that is $8950 or for dependents $5450. $400 for self employed.
- You will only need to file if you have federal income tax withheld shown in box 2 of your W-2, and this is all of your income for 2008. If this is true, you may file a 1040-EZ, and show that you are being claimed as a dependent by someone else.
